Who operates this site
My Solar Guy is the homeowner-facing brand of The Sol Seekers LLC. In this policy, “My Solar Guy,” “we,” and “us” refer to that service.
Information we collect
Depending on what you choose to submit, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, home address, ZIP code, utility, average electric bill, contact preference, notes, referral or campaign information, and consent selections.
If you upload a utility bill, proposal, PDF, or photo, the file may include additional information that appears in the document. You may redact utility account numbers, barcodes, and information that is not needed for the review.
Our hosting provider and embedded services may receive basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, referring page, and request logs as needed to operate and protect the site.
How we use information
- Deliver the fit check, bill review, quote audit, or response you requested.
- Ask for missing information when a responsible home-specific answer requires it.
- Maintain records of requests, consent choices, and follow-up.
- Send educational email only when you separately opt in.
- Protect the site, prevent spam, and troubleshoot submissions.
Submitting a review request does not by itself enroll you in ongoing marketing.
When information is shared
We use service providers, including Netlify, to host the site and process form submissions. Those providers process information on our behalf to operate the service.
We do not forward a bill, proposal, or contact record to a contractor or financing provider unless you later give permission for that purpose. If you ask us to prepare or compare a proposal, we will identify the intended recipient before sharing. We may also disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect people, rights, or the service.
Storage and deletion
Form submissions and uploads may be stored in our hosting and business systems while we review and respond to the request and for reasonable business-record purposes. We do not currently promise a fixed automatic deletion period. You may request access, correction, or deletion by contacting us. We will evaluate the request subject to records we must retain for legal, security, or legitimate business reasons.
Email and text choices
You choose how we may respond to a specific request. Optional educational email and optional marketing text permissions are separate and unchecked by default. You may unsubscribe from email using the link in a message or opt out of texts by replying STOP.
Cookies, embedded content, and browser signals
This site does not currently use advertising pixels or cross-site behavioral advertising. Embedded YouTube videos and web-font providers may receive technical data when their resources load and operate under their own policies. Because we do not currently conduct cross-site behavioral advertising, the site does not use a separate process for browser “Do Not Track” signals.
Children
This service is intended for homeowners and adults evaluating home-energy options. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly request their personal information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices change. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date before they apply to newly collected information.
